The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain Headquarters activates a new model of command post in Bétera.
The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) has activated a new concept of command post on collective tents at the Betera military base training area during this week.
The NRDC-ESP staff personnel has recently been involved in the development of a new Command Post concept adapted to the new scenarios and context based on best practices from different exercises and real-world NATO operations. This new Command Post can be deployed in any kind of environment with less personnel and has the required command and control means to manage up to a high intensity operation.
During this week, the aim of this training activity is focused on setting up this new command post and the subsequent command and control means in the shortest possible time enhancing the level of readiness, and checking the communication systems. A secure communication system is fundamental to the new scenarios.
At the same time, a situation center has been activated to monitor this fictitious deployment at the Headquarters’ premises.
This kind of activity is intended to be carried out every two months and serves to train, test and verify the combat readiness of the NRDC-ESP and its support units in accordance with the new scenarios.
A total 108 military personnel have participated in the exercise, involving different units such as the Signal Regiment 21st, the Support Battalion, the Military Police Battalion or the NRDC-ESP Headquarters represented by 11 allied nations.
