The Deputy Commander (DCOM) of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain Headquarters, Portuguese Army General Sergio Valente, visited the 1st CBRN Defense Regiment "Valencia" on April 30th at its facilities in the “Daoíz y Velarde” Barracks in Paterna.

Upon arrival, the DCOM was received by the Regiment’s commanding officer, who accompanied him during the salute to the unit commanders. During the first part of the visit, a presentation of the Regiment was conducted, outlining its structure, capabilities, and key features.

The visit continued with a tour designed to provide the DCOM with a firsthand look at the Regiment’s operational capabilities. A static and dynamic demonstration was conducted, organized into several stations, showcasing new equipment such as the “Pitón” CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle, the CBRN Biological Laboratory, and the Multipurpose General Decontamination Systems.
