On March 12th they flew to Slovakia
A first group of soldiers from the NATO Rapid Deployment Headquarters in Bétera (Valencia) began their deployment in Slovakia on March 12th, to materialize the leadership as a framework nation of the Warfighting Corps (WFC) contemplated in the operational plans of the Alliance, as part of the coordination element of the Army Corps Headquarters offered by Spain.
The deployment of this first detachment departed from Madrid airport to Slovakia, being expected to be reinforced with more personnel in the coming weeks, until the total contingent is completed. Its main task is the elaboration of NATO's deterrence and defense plans on the eastern flank.
This deployment shows, once again, the firm commitment of Spain and its Armed Forces to our allies and the determined contribution of Spain to the deterrence efforts of the Alliance.
