The CEU University of Valencia has organised the first NATO Information Environment Assessment course, with the support of HQ NRDC-ESP.

CEU Cardenal Herrera University has hosted NATO’s first Information Environment Assessment (IEA) course ever conducted in Spain, addressing the Alliance’s need for expanded training in Strategic Communication. The course brought together more than 50 military and civilian participants from 19 countries, including Ukraine. This milestone was made possible through the leadership and support of HQ NRDC-ESP, based in Bétera, and the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga, Latvia. Classes took place at the university’s Palacio de Colomina campus in Valencia.

CSM José Manuel López Luna Inducted into the CSELC Virtual Hall of Fame

HQ NRDC-ESP proudly announces that Command Sergeant Major José Manuel López Luna has been inducted into the Notable CSELC Alumni – Virtual Hall of Fame, awarded by the Baltic Defence College and the CSELC faculty. On 16 November, Major Cameron Law, Plans Division of NRDC-ESP, won the first-ever Galápagos Ultra Marathon, a 70 km endurance event on San Cristóbal Island.

NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Headquarters Spain (HQ NRDC-ESP) participates in the Avenger Triad 2025 exercise, deploying its command post in Bétera (Valencia)

The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Headquarters Spain (HQ NRDC-ESP) has participated from its base in Bétera (Valencia) in the Avenger Triad 2025 exercise, a multinational training exercise led by the U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) that took place between 22 October and 2 November 2025 in various countries, including Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain.

Handover-Takeover Ceremony of the Corps Forward Element contingent from NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Headquarters Spain (Bétera-Valencia) at Kuchyňa Air Base (Slovakia).

The rotation of the Corps Forward Element, CFE IV (b), deployed at Malacky Air Base (MAB), Slovakia, and under the operational control of the Spanish Operations Command (MOPS), has relieved CFE IV. The CFE has been deployed in Kuchyňa since March 2024.

Visit of the Spanish Defence Public Affairs Course to HQ NRDC-ESP

On May 19, a group of students from the Spanish Defence Public Affairs Course visited the Headquarters of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain (HQ NRDC-ESP), located in Bétera, Valencia. This visit formed a vital component of their academic program, offering insight into the communication structure of HQ NRDC-ESP in a NATO operation.

Headquarters NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain (HQ NRDC-ESP), at the forefront in the use of the Classified Mission Network on the Eastern flank of the Alliance

The MS WFC network, in addition to providing service to Spanish units, provides Command and Control capability to units from other nations that form part of the structure led by HQ NRDC-ESP on the Eastern Flank.

The HQ NRDC-ESP Corps Forward Element has succesfully completed its first year of deployment at Malacky Air Base (Kuchyňa, Slovakia)

Its main task is to coordinate NATO's deterrence plans and contribute to the protection of the Alliance's eastern flank.

HQ NRDC-ESP Military Police Battalion I hosts first annual meeting of NATO Military Police Working Group 2025

The city of Valencia hosted the NATO Military Police Working Group (MPWG) from 3 to 7 February 2025. This event brought together 91 military personnel from 25 different nations, with the aim of developing and coordinating Military Police doctrine, tactics and procedures in combined and joint environments.
