Temporary Exhibition: "ROMANIA IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR"

The Army Museum exhibits an exhibition on Romania in the First World War.
Photographs and documents show the history of the war and the unification of the Romanian nation.
As part of the commemoration of the Centenary of the First World War and the Great Union, the Romanian Cultural Institute, with the collaboration of the Army Museum of Toledo, the National Museum of History of Romania and under the auspices of the Romanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Spain, organizes the exhibition "ROMANIA IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR".
The exhibition presents, through photographs and documents, the step-by-step history of the war and the unification of the Romanian nation.
Not only is it the presentation of the First World War, that universal conflagration on a scale never seen before, but this exhibition tries to bring the visitor closer to the atmosphere of the time, to present photographic documentation of the events, reinforced by a visual tour, which will allow visitors to pass through the reality of life during the Great War.
100 years ago, in 1918, they joined Romania: Bessarabia, on March 27, through the vote of the Council of State; Bukovina, on November 28, through the vote of the Romanian National Council of Bukovina and, finally, Transylvania, on December 1, through the Resolution of the Grand Assembly of Alba Lulia".
The exhibition also includes a selection of pieces from the First World War from the "Herranz-Teodorescu" collection, belonging to a Spanish-Romanian family and including objects symbolic of the Great War, such as decorations, award diplomas, period photographs and documents.
The exhibition opens on January 25 and can be visited free of charge, until February 20.
