NRDC-ESP support to exercise Common Tenacity 19.
Almost 20 personnel from the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) deployed to Strasbourg (France) to participate in the Common Tenacity 19 exercise from 03-15 February. During the twelve days of intense training and practice in the exercise, EUROCORPS achieved its training objectives and now is prepared for its role of Land Component Command for the NRF (NATO Response Force) 2020.
HQ NRDC-ESP contributed to the exercise providing a response cell that simulated a Joint Level command post planning with the purpose of training EUROCORPS staff to conduct incidents that required resolution in a war fighting operations as a Land Component Command.
During 2019, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Spain Headquarters is focused on its own training for its new commitment as Joint Headquarters (Land Heavy) by 2020. This force would be composed of Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations units and a Joint Logistic Support Group prepared to command up to 15.000 troops. Prior to its own NRDC-ESP certification exercise Trident Jackal 19, Common Tenacity 19 exercise continued NRDC-ESP´s training on how to operate in a joint environment.
Common Tenacity 19 is a robust culminating exercise organized by EUROCORPS to challenge them on their road to NRF 2020. This exercise is the last of a series of exercises in the lead-up to EUROCORPS certification focused on the coordination with sister Component Commands and higher command levels.
This exercise has been a great opportunity to share procedures and best practices and identify common training opportunities that are mutually beneficial to both entities.
Also, Spanish military personnel from the Spanish Land Command (FUTER), ESP MARFOR, CAOC-Torrejón or ESP SOCC have also participated in the exercise, showing the Spanish national commitment to Eurocorps Headquarters.
