The future generals and admirals visit different units of the Army

The components of the 25th Refresher Course for the Performance of the Duties of General Officer (CADCOG), which is being developed from January 15th to March 8th, at the Higher School of the Armed Forces, made a visit to different units of the Army. Specifically, part of the course staff -in which officers from the Army, Navy, Air and Space Army, Common Defense Corps and Civil Guard participate- attended the facilities of the "Galicia" VII Brigade in Figueirido (Pontevedra), while another group visited those of the "Guzmán el Bueno" X Brigade, in Cordoba.

In the case of the students who went to the "Cerro Muriano" base, on February 5th, they were received by the interim head of the "Guzmán el Bueno" X Brigade, Colonel Fernández. There they were able to deepen on the main aspects of organization, tasks, capacities and instruction and training facilities that it has, as well as a brief tour of its history, the commitments and challenges in which it is immersed in this moment, and its projects of generation of forces for more immediate international operations.

The visit continued with a tour of the base in which the delegation knew part of the trajectory of the Brigade, represented in the historical rooms of the Armoured Regiment "Cordoba" No. 10 and the Field Artillery Group X. Afterwards, they visited the tower simulator of the Leopardo battle tank, the Pizarro infantry combat vehicle simulator and the virtual system of individual instruction and training of crews, which is compatible for both platforms. Finally, the delegation was able to see a static exhibition of the main materials of the Brigade and attended a supposed tactical combat in urbanized area led by the "Lepanto" Battalion II/2.

For their part, the students and teachers of the course who moved to Figueirido, in Pontevedra, were received, on February 6th, at the "General Morillo" base by the head of the "Galicia" VII Brigade, General Alfonso Pardo de Santayana. During the visit, a series of activities were carried out that consisted of a brief exposition of what the Brigade is, a static exhibition with the main materials of the units, another dynamic of capacities and a tour of the different facilities of support to the instruction and means of simulation available in the base.
