In the Plenary Session of February 21, 1998, the Government of the Autonomous City awarded the city’s Silver Medal to Ceuta’s Compañía de Mar. The President of the Autonomous City, Jesús Cayetano Fortes Ramos, is pinning the Medal’s ribbon onto the Company's Guidon, in the presence of its Commander, Captain Hernández, and General Rodríguez of Austria, Commander-General of Ceuta.

On November 5, 1998, the First Agreement between the Ministry of Defense and the Autonomous City was signed in the Autonomous Palace. On November 24, 2001, the farewell ceremony for the last Conscripts was held on the Parade Ground of the Royal Walls of Ceuta. As part of the ceremony, 334 people participated in the act of swearing allegiance to the flag. The act was presided over by Commander-General López de Olmedo.
