Prim´s Room

Retrato del General Prim

General Prim´portrait

This music room from that time is named as the emblematic General Juan Prim y Prats, who is presented too in a magnificent portrait by Enrique Esteban y Vicente.

The decoration of the walls is accompanied by an Elizabeth II's painting by Mariano Quintanilla, and another painting (also painted by Enrique Esteban y Vicente) in which the outstanding General Prim on horseback is presented fighting against the enemy positions towards the Catalan voluntaries and Alba de Tormes Batallion at the well-known Tetuan Battle (1860).

Inside of the palace's clocks collection, in this room there are two that are really special. They are the oldest ones (from the XVIII) and the only ones from England: one from Higgs and Evans, over the chimney; and the other, an uppercase clock by John Taylor.

There are two bronze figures that need to be highlighted too: "Alegoría de la Primavera" by the French author Rodón Faure, and "Busto de Mujer" by Miguel Blay.
