The 1st-2 Battalion "Princesa" of the Infantry Regiment "La Reina", part of the “Guzmán el Bueno” X Brigade (BRI), has carried out an inter-weapon “Beta” exercise in order to compete its training sequence in generalised combat (offensive, defensive and combat in urbanized areas) corresponding to the first half of the year. It was executed from April the 12th  to the 20th at the “Cerro Muriano” training area and shooting range (Córdoba) and at the “La Enira” operational practice centre in Linares (Jaén), facilities belonging to the National Corps Police, passing the evaluation and reaching the desirable level of training.

The objective of the exercise was the instruction and training of said personnel in urban areas, utilizing the roads and intersections of the aforementioned centre. Within the enclosure, TOA M-113 and URO VAMTAC ST5 vehicles were used, conducting an assault on an urban objective and subsequent withdrawal, exploiting the vehicles' capabilities.

The development of the exercise, in which personnel from the 1st, 4th and 5th Company of the Battalion participated supported by members of the Artillery Group and the BRI X Sappers Battalion, contributes enormously to the cohesion of its different units, allowing them to put into practice their techniques, tactics and procedures in an environment that is different from the usual one at the Cerro Muriano training area and shooting range.

Both Brigade X General Chief and the Provincial Chief Commissioner of Jaén visited the facilities and attended the exercise, highlighting the excellent relationship between the Army and the National Police.
