Spain has participated for the first time in the annual exercise "Falcon Leap", a Dutch event which gathers paratrooper forces of the entire Western world. This year's edition, carried out between September 12 and 17, has been attended by a reduced company of the military group "Roger de Flor", of the 6th "Almogávares" Brigade, with an element of sappers and another of artillery observers, for a total of 50 jumpers, in addition to 12 members of the Launch Company - mainly jump masters and riggers-.

The exercise, with 14 participating countries, has consisted of a full week of manual and automatic opening launches, during which the paratroopers jumped in different areas throughout the Netherlands and Belgium.

The exercise was completed on September 17 with a massive launch in front of more than 30.000 people, remembering the start day of the "Market Garden" operation, in 1944, which is the greatest parachutist landing in history, in which American, English and Polish forces jumped in the same areas, over enemy territory, so that a greater armoured force could cross the region safely and expell the German forces occupying it.

Coinciding with the celebration of the exercise, the "International Meeting of Paratrooper Units Commanders" took place. During it, the participating countries have the opportunity to pool the situation of the paratrooper units in their respective armies, thus promoting interoperability.
