The classrooms, the library, the simulation unit or the students' cabins were part of the itinerary of the visit made by the Ministry of Defence, Margarita Robles, to the Infantry Academy in Toledo, together with the Chief of Staff of the Army, Francisco J. Varela, on 17th January.
The Secretary of State for Defence, Ángel Olivares, the Deputy Secretary of Defence, Alejo de la Torre, and the Director of the Centre, Colonel Francisco J. Marcos, among other authorities, were also present. At the Academy, they also saw a theoretical class of the sergeant students, and a tactics one.
The Toledo-based Infantry Academy is one of the internationally renowned military training centres, with wide experience in the training of Infantry officers and NCOs. In this regard, Minister Robles claimed these soldiers are highly valued 'due to their extensive training', which allows them to exercise leadership, apart from being 'deeply committed to society
Supplementary training programmes with specialisation courses on armoured vehicles, urban combat or promotion to major or first officer are also taught.
