The 4 occupants came out unharmed
A Lince −a Spanish contigent vehicle− was damaged in Lebanon on Sep. 14 when it trod on an explosive device when patrolling the Ebel Es Saqi area, very close to the “Miguel de Cervantes” base in Marjayoun. The 4 occupants of the vehicle came out unharmed.
The blast affected one of the rear tyres of the vehicle Lince when it was maneuvering off road to get out of a surveillance station at low speed during a planned patrol.
The second vehicle occupants organized a first security zone and right after a protection a support unit came from the “Miguel de Cervantes” base, where the East Sector of the United Nation Interim Force HQ in Lebanon is located. That unit included an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) and a stabilizing cell.
