The Chief of the Army Staff General Jaime Domínguez Buj today has visited the Cavalry Academy (Valladolid) in the company of the Chief of the French Army Staff General Bertrand Ract-Madoux.

The visit began at 9:40 am with the arrival at the academy of the two Chiefs of Staff and their respective delegations, accompanied by the Commander of Deputy Army Inspection General North and the Military Commander of Valladolid and Palencia, General Aurelio Quintanilla Burgos, who received them at the Valladolid Station; they were received at the base’s main gate by the Commandant, General Luis Manuel López González.

Subsequently, the two Chiefs of Staff received Official Honours on the Parade Ground where they reviewed the Force and observed its parade.  This force was made up of a Studies Headquarters Honour Squad, a Mixed Military Band from the Cavalry Academy and 12th Cavalry Reconnaissance Regiment ‘Farnesio’, an Officer Scale Cadet Unit and two Non-commissioned Officer Scale Student Units (One of first year and another of second year students).    Following the brief ceremony, General Ract-Madoux and General Dominguez Buj greeted the academic centre’s cadre and professors.

Later the Spanish Chief of the Army Staff and the French Chief of the Army Staff met with the Academy Commandant thus beginning the working session.  Both authorities attended two lectures in the ‘Aula Magna’ assembly hall, the first on the Spanish Army view on the future and the second on Heavy Forces.

At the conclusion of the lecture cycle, the Chiefs of Staff carried out a visit of the Museum/Library and various Base installations.

The visit has ended with the signing of the Academy Guest Book.
