The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Spain Headquarters starts its roadmap training as Joint HQ.
After its first experience in 2014, the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Spain Headquarters located in Bétera (Valencia) starts again its roadmap training for its new commitment as Joint Headquarters by 2020. This force is composed of Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations units and a Joint Logistic Support Group prepared to command up to 15.000 troops. Although its preparation cycle began in June of this year, the first high visibility event has taken place on October 23 and 24, which will mark an important milestone in the training of its personnel.
The Seminar "Joint Headquarters Land Heavy", NATO terminology to refer to a Headquarters with Joint capability whose largest component is Land, has been conducted in the Headquarters’ premises. National and allies experts from allied countries have participated in the seminar. Speakers from the "twin" headquarters such as the Greek NRDC and the German-Netherlands Corps, as well as some analysts coming from the US Lessons Learned Center of the Army (CALL in its Anglo-Saxon terminology) have provided useful information for the NRDC-ESP training roadmap. A videoconference with the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe has taken place and the J5 and J7 representatives have provided Alliance guidelines for the joint view.
Tomorrow, October 25, a military operations in urban terrain conference will be delivered by experts from the Pentagon, the Turkish and the Ukrainian Army due to their experience in this environment.
