The 3rd Edition of the Tactical Experimentation Campaign, organized by the Army’s Future Force Center, in collaboration with the Brigade “Alfonso XIII” II of the Legion, is being conducted from April 7 to 17 at the “Álvarez de Sotomayor” Base and Training Area in Viator (Almería), where various advances in the robotization and sensorization of the battlefield are being showcased.

The Tactical Experimentation Campaign constitutes the main practical framework for the execution of experimentation activities linked to the Spanish Army’s transformation process. It serves as a joint and synergistic working environment where the usefulness, integration, and maturity of new capabilities aimed at transforming the Force are tested under real conditions.

The event includes the participation of personnel from the Future Force Center, the Legion Brigade, multidisciplinary teams from the Spanish Army, and the Training and Doctrine Command, with the support of the National Institute for Aerospace Technology, as well as companies from the national defense industry that provide the necessary technologies, along with various universities.

During the Tactical Experimentation Campaign, various technological advances are showcased in command posts; different unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including those designed for cargo, reconnaissance, intelligence, and security (ISR) missions; first-person view (FPV) systems and loitering munitions; unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), including armed, logistical support, and multipurpose variants; as well as counter-UAS systems, both aerial and those operated by personnel on the ground.
