More than 450 troops and 130 vehicles are taking part in Exercise Saber Guardian 25, whose execution phase is being conducted from June 9th to 24th. Various tactical units from the “King Alfonso XIII” Brigade II of the Legion (BRILEG) are operating under the command of the Hungarian 1st Division.

This marks the beginning of the third and final exercise of Defender Europe 25, the largest annual training activity organized by the United States Army in Europe and Africa on European soil. Its goal is to test the speed and effectiveness of U.S. troop deployment in Europe to defend the eastern flank alongside NATO allies and partners.

Regarding the deployment of equipment, the first phase took place at the Port of Málaga, where vehicles and materiel belonging to various units of the Brigade were loaded. Meanwhile, vehicles and materiel from Cavalry Regiment (RC) 11 embarked at the Port of Valencia, bound for the Port of Zadar (Croatia), arriving on June 6th. After unloading, all vehicles proceeded to the exercise area in Várpalota (Hungary).

As for personnel, they were deployed by air in different rotations to Zadar (Croatia) and Budapest (Hungary).

Saber Guardian 25 follows the Swift Response and Immediate Response exercises, which have taken place across various countries throughout the European continent since May 11th.
