The MAM (Maneuver Support Command) and Brigade XII are taking part in the 'Immediate Response 25' exercise in Greece

A total of 240 service members and 55 vehicles from the Maneuver Support Command (MAM) and the “Guadarrama” Brigade XII have deployed to Greece by air and sea—on board the Spanish Army Logistic Ship Ysabel—to take part in the NATO exercise “Immediate Response 25,” from May 26th to June 9th.

This exercise aims to support U.S.-led international training focused on protecting NATO’s eastern flank and constitutes the second phase of Exercise “Defender Europe 25.” Its objective is to test the speed and effectiveness of U.S. troop deployments across Europe in defense of the eastern flank alongside allied forces.

The Spanish contingent is structured around a Mechanized Tactical Subgroup from the “Guadarrama” Brigade XII, operating under a Greek brigade; a Logistics Unit from the MAM Logistics Brigade, integrated into the U.S. 16th Sustainment Brigade; an EOD section from the Engineer Command, working alongside the U.S. Army’s 184th EOD Battalion; and a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Reconnaissance Team from the “Valencia” Nº 1 NBC Defense Regiment, which is integrated into the French NBC Battalion (“Dragons”).

This exercise represents a significant challenge for the MAM and Brigade XII, as it will serve to improve their interoperability with other allied units, demonstrate their ability to respond quickly and effectively to crisis situations as a multinational force in a high-intensity operation, and promote deterrence on NATO’s eastern flank.
