The 'Filipinas' Battalion of the 47th 'Palma' Regiment — part of the Balearic Islands General Command (COMGEBAL) — is currently taking part in Exercise "Balex 25", a training maneuver being conducted from March 30 to April 11 at the Chinchilla Training Center (CENAD) in Albacete.

This environment allows for the use of certain types of weapon systems that cannot be employed at the 'Jaime II' Training and Firing Range in Mallorca for live-fire exercises.

The contingent deployed from the Balearic Islands consists of approximately 300 personnel and 80 vehicles, and is fully supported with all necessary logistical and operational assets. In addition, a tactical sub-group from the General Command of Ceuta has joined the exercise, along with several enabling elements, including artillery liaison detachments, drones, and nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) warfare teams from units under the Canary Islands Command of the Spanish Army.

The deployment was carried out by sea, from the Port of Palma to Valencia. Once disembarked, the troops continued overland to Chinchilla.

This movement by sea is in itself an exercise, as the projection of units is crucial for the COMGEBAL, since any deployment requires the use of maritime assets.
