The Mountain Troops Command conducts its main exercise in the Huesca Pyrenees

On demanding terrain and in low temperatures, the Mountain Tactical Group, formed around the Mountain Hunters Battalion "Montejurra" I/66, trained in the planning, conduct, and execution of winter mountain operations, carrying out command and control procedures and integrating all participating units.

Participation of the FAMET

Alongside the MTM units, personnel from the Army Airmobile Forces (FAMET), the Military Mountain and Special Operations School, the 21st Signal Regiment, the Logistics Group III/61 of the Maneuver Support Command, and the 6th Field Artillery Group took part in the exercise. Additionally, 52 foreign military personnel from mountain units of the French and Chilean armies contributed, bringing the total to 619 troops.

As a rapid deployment exercise, the Army Airmobile Forces (FAMET) played a key role with three NH90 Sarrio helicopters from BHELMA III, conducting troop insertion and extraction operations in the Canfranc area.

This exercise is a crucial opportunity for the Mountain Troops Command and its allies to test and enhance their skills under extreme weather conditions.
